Mechanics
Rather than attacking, the Quirk builds cover. Its holder generates a wall of fire, or several layered walls, and positions it over a section of the body to absorb what is coming. The anime renders the material as a glossy green liquid instead of ordinary flame.
The defense is graded rather than absolute. Fire hotter than what the Quirk itself produces will penetrate the barrier, which is precisely what happened when Endeavor's Hellflame met it.
