Appearance

Freckles gather in a small patch at the middle of Katsuma's face, above which sit brown eyes and curly light brown hair. He dresses in blue overalls, dark straps over a white tee, with sandals in light blue and a broad sun hat, its crown banded blue and its rim striped lighter.

A small yellow messenger bag hangs at his side, and its strap carries a pin of Edgeshot's face, won as a consolation prize in a raffle run by a children's hero magazine. His left wrist holds a bracelet strung with a floral charm his mother made by hand, twin to the one his sister wears. Eight years past the war he has grown considerably and wears the U.A. uniform.

Personality

Quiet and easily rattled, Katsuma trails his older sister Mahoro almost everywhere. Where she has no use for heroes, he adores them openly, wearing that Edgeshot pin in plain view and dreaming of the job himself. It does not stop him following her lead into disrupting Class 1-A's work, though he alone sees the wrong in it and apologizes to Izuku Midoriya for the invented villain sighting.

His courage runs deeper than the shyness suggests. After Nine's first strike he pushed into the infirmary and begged to be allowed to heal Izuku and Katsuki Bakugo, feeling he owed them his life, and nearly collapsed doing it. When the students planned their counterattack, he volunteered to give up his Quirk to help trap Nine, and Izuku refused, promising protection instead.

Later, watching Nine hold Mahoro by the throat, he charged and demanded her release knowing exactly what it would cost, and Izuku and Katsuki reached him first. Afterward the siblings ran the harbor deck waving their thanks, his eyes shining as Izuku wished him luck on the road ahead.

Abilities

Cell Activation stimulates and accelerates cellular activity in whoever Katsuma touches, closing wounds and lifting physical performance. It drains his stamina hard, and holding it too long leaves him wrecked. There are implications he can turn it inward on himself.

It has worked on blood types O, A and B, which already separates it from his father's version, bound as that one was to a single type. His admission to U.A.'s hero course, in an era when only the strongest applicants get through, says plenty about how far his control has come.
