Low pigtails hold Satsuki's dark green hair, and her mouth tends to sit fixed in a small pout. Her eyes are wide in the same way Tsuyu's are, each carrying three lashes above, set under eyebrows so slight they nearly vanish. Her skin runs lightly tanned, and her overall build reads as a tadpole, keeping step with the amphibian look that runs through the whole Asui family.

Curiosity surfaces in her often enough, a product of growing up in a household where Tsuyu was the one answering questions while their parents were away at work. Whatever she asks for, the affection runs both directions, and Satsuki holds her sister dearly.

Satsuki sits at the bottom of the Asui sibling order, behind Tsuyu and Samidare. With Bell and Ganma frequently traveling for work, the household ran on Tsuyu, who cooked the meals and minded the two younger children. One quiet snapshot of that arrangement has Satsuki looking up from an All Might interview to ask what dinner will be, and Tsuyu answering pasta. Demanding as those years were, Tsuyu came away calling her life a good one.

Society buckles after the Paranormal Liberation War, and the collapse pushes the family into an evacuation center. Tsuyu leaves to stand with the Heroes against All For One's forces in the Final War, and her relatives follow the fighting through a live feed, including the decisive clash pitting Izuku Midoriya against Tomura Shigaraki. When Tsuyu and Mezo Shoji carve a path through the barrage so that Izuku can close the distance, the family watches in disbelief and the younger siblings shout her on.

Written in hiragana her name can be read as the lunar calendar's fifth month, or May, a wordplay she shares with Samidare. Her earliest manga appearance came in a bonus chapter, though Chapter 422 counts as her formal debut. Natalie Rial voices both her and her brother in English.
