Yuyu Haya spent three years in U.A.'s Class 3-A and most of them making sure her best friend Nejire Hado won the School Festival beauty pageant. An unnamed Quirk lets her shape electricity into arrows, work that put her on the fortress crew during the Final War, and afterward she graduates and turns pro.
Yuyu keeps her hair cropped and dyed a salmon shade, and grey studs fill several piercings in her ears. Her eyes are reddish brown with long lower lashes, her skin fair. The U.A. girls' uniform hangs off her deliberately askew: crooked collar, loose tie, sleeves shoved up, tights under the skirt, a pair of pink bracelets riding her right wrist.
For hero work she wears a purple bodysuit marked in yellow, with long black sleeves, a small black domino mask over her eyes, tall purple boots accented white and yellow, and a white belt crossing both waist and chest with cylinders fixed to it.
Friendly and fashion-minded, Yuyu threw herself into the role of Nejire Hado's attendant for the U.A. beauty pageant, driven by the fact that a third year meant a last chance at the crown. She defends her friends without pausing to think it through, which is why she got in Bibimi Kenranzaki's face over an insult to Nejire's dress, and why a nail found in Nejire's shoe convinced her instantly that Bibimi had sabotaged it. She apologized once she learned better. Away from that friendship she is steady and diligent, channeling her Quirk into the flying fortress's power supply and reminding the underclassmen to stay sharp.
Nejire is the center of it. They use each other's first names, a closeness Nejire extends to nobody else, and Yuyu has helped her prepare every year since talking her into entering as a first-year. She rates Nejire the galaxy's cutest thing, dreads that she will fall short of the win she wants, and wept when she finally took it. Bibimi she never warmed to, though the volume extras note a symmetry there: Bibimi dislikes oranges, which happen to be Yuyu's favorite.

Naruto vs Luffy with the twist nobody asked for: Luffy tickled Hinata on date night, and she kind of liked it. We break down the whole fight and commit to a winner....

There are no women on Namek. That isn't an oversight, it's the biology. Why we handed Piccolo the one thing his own species rules out, and why it had to be trap soul....
Yuyu became Nejire's closest friend at U.A. and suggested the Miss Con beauty pageant to her during their first year. Two straight losses to Bibimi followed, and Yuyu kept coaching her through the preparations anyway. In their third year she handled outfits and the content of the performance, sparred with Bibimi during the run-up, and mistook one of Mei Hatsume's stray nails for sabotage, an argument that ran alongside a chase after a thieving crow and then a whole murder of them, broken up by Bibimi's pageant robot. Nejire, who overheard Yuyu admitting she had wanted to compete herself, told her that the version of her she does not like is still part of what she loves. Nejire won, and Yuyu cried over it.
Months later, with All For One loose from Tartarus and the country in chaos, the surviving heroes staged the Final War. Neito Monoma's copied Warp Gate scattered the villains, dropping Tomura Shigaraki into the U.A. Flying Fortress. Yuyu joined Denki Kaminari, Manga Fukidashi, and the other electric Quirk users powering the barrier that sealed him in. When Katsuki Bakugo's Howitzer Impact: Cluster shook the whole structure, she worried aloud about Nejire and the state of the arena until Denki assured her that Katsuki does not neglect his surroundings. The team dropped the barrier long enough for Izuku Midoriya to slingshot inside, then raised it again around the fight.
It fell apart once Kurogiri warped Twice Doubles to Shota Aizawa and Neito, undoing the Erasure on Tomura. His explosion gutted the fortress, the flight system was hacked, and Mandalay pulled the electric team out of the control room and into combat against the Doubles. Gentle's Elasticity kept U.A. from falling and La Brava restored the flight system, but the damage forced an emergency landing on the coast, and Yuyu limped out with the others for treatment. She was still recovering when Aizawa gathered heroes for Mt. Fuji, where Izuku ended Tomura. Weeks afterward, with rebuilding underway, she returned to a partly restored U.A. and attended the delayed graduation, taking her diploma alongside her class while Present Mic MC'd and Mirio delivered the graduates' address.

Yuyu Haya's rival is Bibimi Kenranzaki, who competed against Nejire Hado for two years running in U.A.'s beauty pageant. Yuyu clashed with Bibimi repeatedly while coaching Nejire, though the two share an ironic detail: Bibimi dislikes oranges, which happen to be Yuyu's favorite fruit.
