Chapter 194

Unable to get back to sleep, Izuku goes running and keeps turning the dream over, especially the moment All For One's brother reached for his hand while every past holder looked straight at him. The next day All Might finds him in U.A.'s nap room and hears the whole account.

All Might has had comparable visions himself. His own master explained them as remnants left behind by everyone who held One For All earlier, not ordinary dreams, and taught him that those generations could not talk back, which would make Izuku the first holder to experience anything like this. Even so, All Might remembers Nana telling him that even if she died, they would meet again inside One For All. Izuku asks what the brother meant by the "singularity," then why All Might and two other predecessors looked fuzzy in the dream. All Might admits he does not really understand what happened and suggests the two of them hunt for answers together. Izuku promises to give it everything, and adds that his master was a beautiful woman.

Leaving the nap room, the two run into Shota and Hitoshi coming out of the room next door. Shota greets them by sarcastically noting how well they get along, and All Might covers by claiming Izuku was being pushy. Izuku greets Hitoshi excitedly, mentioning he had seen him with Shota before, and Hitoshi smiles and confirms it. Shota cuts in, telling Izuku to prepare, since the day ahead is full.

Class 1-A gathers in the industrial ground used for the final exams, several students showing off reworked gear, Momo with a new cloak and Mina with winterized goggles. Tenya remarks on how far the gear has come, and Rikido points out that Tenya alone kept his identical through the summer. Izuku starts theorizing aloud about why Katsuki altered his, which sends Katsuki into a fury. Mashirao turns to Izuku's own gear and brings up the glove upgrade Mei Hatsume built before the school festival. The name alone sets Ochaco punching herself in the face to knock loose whatever she is picturing about the two of them, leaving her classmates confused.

Neito loudly announces Class 1-B's arrival and declares the momentum has moved to their side, waving a questionnaire he published whose results put 1-B's festival performance two votes ahead of 1-A's. He keeps taunting as the joint training begins, Kendo moves to scold him, and Shota gets there first with his capture straps. Together with Sekijiro he then reveals who is joining them: Hitoshi Shinso, angling for a place in the Hero course.

Izuku relays his vision to All Might, who has no explanation for it. The brother of All For One has his face revealed to readers for the first time. Updated costumes across both hero classes go on display. Hitoshi Shinso's bid for a place in the hero department is made public.

Thirteen pages, released August 20, 2018 in issue 38 and collected in volume 21, with Episode 91 adapting it. The chapter opens the Joint Training arc. Izuku Midoriya and Yuga Aoyama appear on the cover. Locations include Heights Alliance, the teachers' lounge, Ground Gamma, and the vestige realm, while the item list covers the Capturing Weapon, Artificial Vocal Cords, Grenadier Bracers, and Air Force Gloves. The cast is unusually wide, covering both hero classes plus every previous One For All holder. Horikoshi's author comment thanks VIZ Media for an invitation to San Diego Comic-Con.
