Between Itsuka's swings, Momo builds a cannon, which catches her opponent off guard. She points it past the katakana wall Manga raised and launches something over it. Then Itsuka connects with Big Fist, expanding the hand at the moment of impact.

Fumikage, meanwhile, is chasing Shihai, who has already bagged Yuga. Manga produces the characters for boing and grind, and they bounce into Fumikage while mushrooms sprouting on him have his attention. He finds Toru completely coated in fungus and concludes that the 1-B team is genuinely strong, and that winning requires finding where the opponents actually are.

Then he spots the object Momo fired. Black Fallen Angel carries him to it with Toru in tow, and Dark Shadow retrieves a package labeled Yaoyorozu's Lucky Bag. On the ground, Shihai reports Yuga's imprisonment to Kinoko, who congratulates him and proposes they press the attack together since their positions have stayed hidden. Shihai questions that conclusion, given that Fumikage is flying straight at them.

Infrared goggles from the bag let Fumikage pinpoint the 1-B students, and a fungicidal spray from the same bag strips Toru clean, restoring the invisibility that lets her ambush Manga. Fumikage hits Kinoko and Shihai with Black Abyss: Sabbath, and when Shihai bolts for darkness, Fumikage snares him inside his own cloak. Toru lands hit after hit on Manga unseen.

The turn stops when Fumikage starts choking on a fungus Kinoko has grown inside his windpipe. From the stands, Neito remarks that he should have knocked her out, since her Quirk is fearsome even though she is no fighter. Itsuka closes it out, one fist around Toru and the other holding Momo and her cannon. To herself, she admits that Momo executed a deeply considered plan despite the loss, and so the victory does not feel like one. Class 1-A goes to prison en masse, handing Class 1-B their first win of the Joint Training Battle.

Class 1-B sweeps round two 4-0, claiming their side's first win of the exercise.

Momo's cannon shot delivers Yaoyorozu's Lucky Bag over Manga's wall, supplying infrared goggles and fungicidal spray that briefly turn the match.

Fumikage debuts Black Abyss: Sabbath and captures Shihai inside his cloak before Kinoko grows fungus in his windpipe.

Itsuka captures both Toru and Momo, but privately does not consider the result a real win.

Thirteen pages, published October 8, 2018 in issue 45 of that year, and the first chapter collected in volume 22. It falls in the Joint Training arc and was adapted as Episode 94.

Itsuka Kendo and Momo Yaoyorozu share the cover, reflecting the rivalry the chapter resolves. Everything unfolds at Ground Gamma on the U.A. High School campus.
