Chapter 238

Tomura Shigaraki runs his whole life back through his head and decides the hands on his body are unnecessary, crushing his father's in rage. Re-Destro tries to finish him with his Stress Meta Ability at full 100%, and Tomura answers by disintegrating the energy tendrils without difficulty.

The exchange nearly wipes out Deika City, bringing down most of the surrounding buildings. As Tomura holds Re-Destro off, Gigantomachia bears down on the location and Geten abandons his fight with Dabi. Tomura shows no injury and no pain. He mocks Re-Destro, saying he understands the urge to destroy whatever is irritating purely for fun, and Re-Destro starts to come apart as the man walks toward him with clear purpose.

Re-Destro rejects the claim and summons Claustro, the support item that amplifies his Stress. Doing it, he realizes he is afraid of Tomura, and a fragment of his own childhood surfaces. Armored now, he prepares 150% of his power. Tomura is unfazed.

Meanwhile Twice and three of his Doubles move an unconscious Himiko, plus her copy, through the wreckage, hoping to pull the League of Villains back together once this ends. Mr. Compress, having seen what Gigantomachia can do, heads toward Dabi. Dabi mentions he nearly burned Geten, then decides to call Daruma Ujiko for a warp out to safety. Daruma refuses: Johnny has limits on his Warping Quirk, and he has no interest in tying himself to organizations other groups are targeting.

Mr. Compress attacks the selfishness and notes that Tomura is on the brink of dying. Daruma admits that was exactly the intent, that he wanted Tomura in a tight spot. Gigantomachia rampages through the MLA while Geten races toward Re-Destro, apologizes for the worry, and gets swatted aside by the giant before he can reach his master. At the same time, Spinner, with several clones alongside him, clings to Trumpet's truck to halt the politician.

The giant arrives where Tomura stands and halts at the sight of what the man has become. Re-Destro observes that Tomura has gone beyond his own liberation as he charges his final move. Tomura releases Decay at full power, and an enormous mass of destruction appears to be heading straight at Re-Destro.

Tomura stops fighting what he is and lines up to erase Re-Destro entirely.

Re-Destro calls in support gear that wraps him in stress-amplifying armor.

Gigantomachia reaches the site in time to watch the two leaders collide.

Geten abandons the duel with Dabi to intercept the giant, gets swatted, and lands a long way off.

The chapter ran on August 5, 2019 in the combined issue 36-37, spans fifteen pages, and is collected in Volume 25 under the Japanese title 解放, read Kaihō. Tomura and Kotaro Shimura share the cover, and Episode 112 adapts it.

All of it takes place in Deika City. Ice Ply, Blueflame, Double, Stress and Decay are in use, 80% Liberation and Stress: 100% appear as super moves, and Claustro debuts as an item. Dabi's fight with Geten concludes here.
