Chapter 246

In his hidden laboratory, Daruma Ujiko readies Tomura Shigaraki for surgery and asks why a man whose Decay Quirk has made him destruction incarnate wants more. A promise was made on conditions he has met, Tomura says, so he intends to collect. Pressed, he gives the honest version: the Quirk is fallible and enemies survive it, as Re-Destro did, and running it at full output scarred his own right arm, so it is not something he can spend freely. He wants every tool available to wipe out the residue All Might left behind.

All of the research served All For One, Ujiko explains. Years earlier he authored the Quirk Singularity theory, arguing that as generations pass and Quirks blend they grow stronger and more tangled until nobody can control them, because human bodies cannot evolve fast enough. Only All For One took it seriously, since a sprawling collection of Quirks was a genuine problem for him. The procedure will mean four months of hellish agony, after which Tomura will hold power exceeding All For One's, enough to put One For All within reach, the one Quirk his master never claimed.

At the Front's base, supervision and off-limits areas hem Hawks in. Detnerat's president compliments his success spreading Destro's ideology, and Twice asks him to explain the book because he could not follow it. In his office, Endeavor has finished decoding the warning, and recalling the Madam President asking him to help students gain experience against villains, he understands what is required.

Burnin tells Izuku and Katsuki that since Endeavor only asked for Shoto, they will most likely go to the sidekicks. Katsuki takes it badly, Deku tries to settle him, and Shoto objects too. Endeavor then emerges and announces he will train all three himself.

The chapter closes on Hawks, who remembers Dabi writing the boys off after the Starservant fight and privately thanks him, satisfied that stealing their moment was the right play. This generation of heroes is the strongest yet, in his estimation, and they will matter enormously in the war ahead.

Ujiko places Tomura in stasis for four months so he can control what he gains, up to taking One For All, and is confirmed as the mind behind the Quirk Singularity. Endeavor commits to training the interns, and Re-Destro has replaced his legs with mechanical ones. A wide survey shows the rest of the students' placements: Fumikage with Hawks' sidekicks, Ochaco, Tsuyu, and Nejire back with Ryukyu, Eijiro and Tamaki back with Fat Gum alongside Tetsutetsu, Tenya with Manual, Denki, Hanta, Minoru, and Ibara with The Lurkers, Kyoka and Mezo with Gang Orca, Koji and Manga with Wash, plus numerous student pairings drawn from both hero courses.

Chapter 246, by Kohei Horikoshi, runs seventeen pages in volume 25 within the Endeavor Agency arc, published October 12, 2019 in issue 46. Shishido debuts, Episodes 103 and 113 split the adaptation, and eight of the series' women share the cover. Shishido and Byakkov from Horikoshi's earlier Oumagadoki Zoo cameo among the trainers, with Shishido later confirmed outright as a character, and a figure resembling Sonic the Hedgehog appears in a corner of Kyoka and Mezo's work study.
