Summary

In the agency gym Endeavor commits to training the three personally, but first wants Izuku and Katsuki to describe themselves and name what they are after. Izuku wants command of his power at maximum output. Endeavor places him as the boy whose super-strength Quirk is formidable and self-destructive, which Izuku confirms, adding he has found a way to hold it below the injury threshold. Lately, though, it has surfaced in a new form, and Endeavor asks to see it.

A thin strand of Blackwhip is all he can produce, and even that demands total concentration or the power spills over and runs wild. Its true shape is a whip, he explains, and he wants to weaponize it by borrowing concepts from Air Force. To make the goal clear he launches into an exhaustive breakdown of Air Force's mechanics. Burnin, Shoto, and Katsuki lose the thread immediately. To Burnin's astonishment, Endeavor tracks every word, and thinking back to the sports festival he recognizes a kindred case: someone holding a Quirk comparable to All Might's that is equally capable of wrecking its owner. Izuku does not understand.

Key Events

Katsuki's answer inverts Izuku's. He already commands a powerful Quirk, so what he wants is to identify what he lacks, the missing piece between him and surpassing the number one hero.

Endeavor moves to start training, but Shoto notes he was never asked. Irritated, Endeavor supplies the answer himself, mastering Flashfire Fist, and Shoto corrects him. Resenting his father and fighting with his ice side produced exactly the son Endeavor wanted anyway, he says, and Izuku and Katsuki opened his eyes to what he actually wants to become. He grants that Endeavor's knowledge is real and states his reason for coming: to learn from the genuine number one and earn the title himself. His inspiration is All Might, forgiveness has not happened, and he asks Endeavor to stop performing fatherhood while his friends are standing right there. Endeavor, who thought his son was finally opening up, absorbs how badly he misread it and starts the lesson.

Outside, he lays out the three pillars of hero work: rescue, evacuation, and battle. Most agencies build on one, while his handles all three. He wants them to know their surroundings well enough to catch the faintest disturbance, arrive first, and cap the damage by pushing civilians clear, until the sequence becomes instinct. The winter break assignment is to take down a villain faster than he does, even once.
