Chapter 359

Inside the U.A. Flying Fortress, staff and students keep hammering the structure back together. A Development Course student spots Business Course classmates filming the whole thing and snaps at them for it. Their reply is that every war in history was recorded, that promoting heroes and bridging them to the public is their job, and that this documentary is what three years of study was for and will show how the victory was won.

Dynamight closes on Tomura and puts a fully connected Cluster into him, an explosion so large it registers outside the Fortress. Eraser Head and Phantom Thief strain to keep their eyes open through it, the construction crew feels it, and Creati recognises whose it is. Over on the electrical crew, Yuyu wonders aloud what possessed him to go that far, and Chargebolt tells her not to worry, because whatever it looks like, Bakugo does not fight carelessly.

It does not land the way it should. Tomura had already worked out how he compresses his blasts to contain the spread and multiply the force, and he seizes the boy by his right arm, naming that limb as the thing which has to go. He repeats what he said before, that Dynamight no longer interests him, and sends another wave of fingers out. Mirko, Best Jeanist and Edgeshot try to check it, and Tomura asks who decided closing the distance was clever before swatting Dynamight aside and battering the trio with strength on par with All Might's. Dynamight struggles up, staggered by how enormous the difference really is. Tomura tells him the appeal was never his thoughts or feelings, only his proximity to Izuku, nearer than anybody else manages. A status check on Izuku goes from Eraser Head to Mandalay and comes back empty, electromagnetic interference having killed the transmissions. With Tomura moving in for the kill, Eraser Head calls for anyone at all to save Dynamight, because the boy still has a graduation ahead of him and a Number 1 Hero spot to claim.

Elsewhere in the debris, Suneater tells Nejire Chan he wants a proper graduation ceremony. A voice answers that Nezu can be talked into hosting one for them once this is finished. Suneater asks whether they even have a chance, and the figure rising out of the ground says they will protect everyone until Izuku arrives. Lemillion is back, and the Big 3 are whole again.

The Business Course is revealed to be aboard the U.A. Fortress, documenting the battle. Dynamight lands his Cluster attack at full power, only for Tomura to stop him and crush his right arm. Tomura then drives back the other heroes and tells Dynamight that his one point of interest is how near he stands to Izuku.

A second attempt by Eraser Head and Mandalay to raise Izuku fails, blocked by interference. Lemillion turns up on the battlefield, and the Big 3 ready themselves against Tomura together.

Kohei Horikoshi numbers this My Hero Academia installment 359 and calls it Place of Learning. Eighteen pages long and collected in Volume 36, it ran in issue 33 of 2022 on July 19. Futo Nagashira and Maina Furasu take the cover, and the chapter also carries a color spread.

Part of the Final War arc, its pages were split in adaptation between Episode 148 (pages 4 to 14) and Episode 149 (pages 15 to 18). Horikoshi's author comment plugs Verbellum: Kotoba no Sensou, drawn by his former assistant Fushimi, whose first volume had just gone on sale in Japan.
