Summary

The announcer keeps up his frantic play-by-play while Rumi Usagiyama flattens the arena wholesale, dropping fighters, spectators and staff with kick after kick. Being badly outnumbered barely slows her. Iwao Oguro and Kendo Rappa reach the floor to find the chaos in full swing. Rappa passes on joining, since a free-for-all is no proper death match, and Iwao decides the confusion makes decent cover for slipping out of the building, with Rappa trailing him and still nagging about their rematch.

An alarm cuts in and gas begins flooding the cage. Anyone who breathes it loses control of their Quirk entirely. Iwao spots the venue staff pulling on masks, which tells him the whole thing was arranged in advance. The three of them stay clear, the two men tucked behind a corner and Rumi perched above the cage. Then black mist gathers in front of each victim, a hand reaches out of it, and their Quirks are pulled away. When the mist turns toward Rumi, Iwao triggers Overclock and snatches her out of its path. It gives chase, and he works out that it tracks by sight, so he uses the panicking crowd to slide into its blind spot.

Iwao then admits his real identity. He is O'Clock, the high speed hero, and he invokes a hero's right to request help from civilians during a crisis. He recognizes Rumi's school uniform and offers to smooth things over with her teachers, an offer she waves off before asking what she can do. While Rappa and Rumi argue over whether punching or kicking matters more in a fight, Iwao lays out the objective: break out of the underground structure and regroup with the police waiting above. The two grumble at being ignored, but hold their ground once he questions their nerve.

Elsewhere, the two mysterious voices watching the venue identify O'Clock and rate Overclock far too valuable to let walk away. They decide to spend their finest resource, and a hooded figure steps out of the drifting gas.
