Chūshin

Lean and hollow-cheeked, Chūshin has a gaunt build topped by dark, messy hair that falls near his shoulders behind a retreating hairline. A pronounced dimple splits his chin, and a large shuriken rides across his back.

Where his teammate Nangō stays tight-lipped, Chūshin rarely stops running his mouth. He shows a cruel, gutless streak as well, grinding his heel into Naruto's head while the boy lay pinned by a sealing technique, and he bickers often with his comrade Benten.

Chūshin fights fast and limber, slipping past traps that catch him off guard, and he favours the oversized shuriken slung at his back. As a Magaki member his real value lies in cooperative arts: he funnels his chakra into Akaboshi to sharpen the leader's blows, and together with Nangō and Benten he can meld into a shared transformation, shatter barriers, bind foes with shadow ropes, and crush enemies inside techniques such as the Infinite Embrace and its wider form. Their deadliest trick, the Impermanence of Worldly Things, hurls a shard that splits apart to skewer a target, a method Yamato judged genuinely formidable.

The team's hunt for the Tsuchigumo clan's forbidden art took them up Mount Katsuragi, where they broke the protective barrier and quickly dispatched Tonbee before learning that Hotaru carried the jutsu. Acting on fresh orders from a shadowy patron, they cornered and bound Utakata in a barrier technique, then ambushed Hotaru in the Tsuchigumo Village with help from its controlled residents, though a booby-trapped scroll let her escape. Later, when Naruto Uzumaki went looking for Shiranami believing him a friend, Chūshin and the others sprang on him and siphoned his chakra with the Infinite Embrace. Chūshin stamped on the boy's skull and taunted him, which unleashed the Nine-Tails' chakra and wrecked the house around them. The clash carried into a final showdown as the group puppeteered the villagers against Team Yamato; after a duel of clones and counters, Sakura and Yamato took down Benten and Nangō, leaving Chūshin beaten beside Akaboshi.
