Kedama

Kedama comes across as reserved and closed off, so much so that his cellmate Kamata says he rarely speaks, least of all to newcomers. He carries a soft spot for flowers, once catching a prisoner before he could topple onto a bed of them. He had started out defiant, refusing to be pushed around and often landing in solitary, which earned him respect from the inmates. After a plan went wrong and cost him both his closest friend and his standing, he stopped caring and simply drifted along, until watching the loyalty Boruto and his companions showed one another stirred his better nature back to life.

Kedama grew close to a fellow inmate named Kiku, and the two devised an escape that hinged on heavy rain. On the chosen night, seeing no rain, Kedama stayed in his cell and assumed the plan was off, only to learn too late that the downpour had come; he rushed out to find Kiku already cut down by Benga, who twisted the story to brand Kedama a snitch and turn the prison against him.

Years later, during the Mujina Bandits affair, Kedama shared a cell with Boruto and Mitsuki. When a stolen all-access pass turned up among his belongings, the real culprit proved to be Arai, whom Kedama knocked out. Learning of Mitsuki's undercover mission to break out Kokuri, Kedama at first wanted no part in others' business, but he came around, saving Sarada from drowning, explaining the castle's tides, and knowingly aiding the escape while taking quiet pride in helping it succeed. After Mujo returned to duty and Benga died, Kedama settled into a calmer life tending the prison garden.

Fitting his large frame, Kedama is strong enough to lay a man out cold with a single punch.
