Summary

Late at night, Mitsuki confers through a white snake about the recent disturbances, mentioning a Root heirloom and a likely culprit, and recalls waking inside a tank. At the Academy the instructors set the students loose on an obstacle course in trios. Boruto and Mitsuki stop to help a struggling Denki, burning through their time in the process, and Shino fails every group because those who finished did so by ditching their partners. Konohamaru and Moegi drop by to scout who might one day serve under them and urge the students to test which formations work best.

Curious about the pull Boruto has on others, Mitsuki asks Shikadai why he aided Denki and watches Boruto tutor Iwabee through arithmetic. Inojin points out how far Boruto goes to be seen as more than the Hokage's child, and Mitsuki carries the question to Sumire, who calls Boruto fun and shares that her whole family is gone and her nerves stem from never matching her late father's skill.
