Kin Tsuchi

Kin's black hair is her most striking feature, hanging nearly to her calves and gathered near the tips with a violet ribbon. Her eyes are dark and her skin fair. Matching her teammates Dosu and Zaku, she wears a forehead protector, a pale green vest cut like a flak jacket, and snake patterned clothing throughout: trousers layered under a skirt, with a scarf of the same design at her neck.

Like the rest of Team Dosu, Kin brims with overconfidence. She scorns girls she sees as vain, sneering at Sakura for fussing over her looks instead of her training, and she prefers to break an opponent down slowly and painfully rather than end a fight quickly. That arrogance is also her weakness; caught up in her own boasting, she failed to notice that the thin shadow of her own wire could be turned against her.

In combat Kin relies on senbon, hurling the thin needles with precision at an enemy's vital points and hanging small bells from them so the ringing masks her true aim; in the anime she pairs this with a sound based illusion.

She travels to Konohagakure with Team Dosu on a mission to kill Sasuke Uchiha, and the squad clears the written exam before entering the Forest of Death. There they corner Sakura, and Kin seizes her by the hair, taunting her for prizing her appearance over her skill, only for Sakura to slice off her own locks and escape into a substitution. The clash draws in Team 10, and Ino Yamanaka hijacks Kin's body with the Mind Body Switch Technique; Zaku's reckless attack wounds both girls and leaves Kin unconscious, though her team still advances.

In the preliminaries she is drawn against Shikamaru Nara. She works her bells to keep him off balance, but he traps her in his Shadow Imitation Technique and forces her to mirror his motions, sending her reeling back into the arena wall hard enough to knock her out. Her end comes during the Konoha Crush, where Orochimaru offers her and Zaku as sacrifices to reincarnate the First and Second Hokage.
