History
Posted at Konoha's front gate alongside Saō, Uō was overpowered before dawn by two attackers who carried Mitsuki off, and the ambush left both sentries comatose and bedridden. Ino later combed through his memories of that night, showing Naruto and the village leadership that Mitsuki had gone along with the pair of his own accord. Once he came to, Uō reported to the Seventh Hokage that the assailants hailed from Iwagakure and were bound for the Land of Earth. He kept his gate duty afterward. When the Hokage floated the idea of sealing the gates because Kara had planted spies, Uō and Saō pushed back, promising to screen everyone entering and leaving with care, and Naruto put his faith in them.
