Teams 5 and 15 share a bandit-hunting mission but cannot agree on tactics, so Tsubaki strikes out alone and downs most of the outlaws, though her move lets their leader slip away and forces Team 5 to keep chasing. Her teammates wonder why she held back her full strength and handed Team 5 the credit; she blames her Secret Sword: Snowstorm Beheading acting up. When the squads regroup, friction lingers. Denki pulls up his compiled stats to defuse things, noting Tsubaki's numbers far outstrip a normal genin's, yet Team 15's overall showing has slipped since she joined.

Determined to top Team 5's scores, Tsubaki turns her own squad into a contest, outperforming her teammates on the next job and earning a heap of fries. Hanabi notices the growing rivalry backfire when the team, fixated on catching bandits, abandons a merchant they were guarding and forces her to rescue him, costing them their next scheduled mission. While eating at the Lightning Burger, Tsubaki is approached by Boruto, who nudges her to try the meal deal instead of only fries, showing how each item lifts the others. The lesson sticks. When Team 15 discovers the real hunter from the missed mission bound in the woods, they realize an impostor, brother of a bandit they had caught, is deceiving Team 5. Both squads unite against the outlaws, and Tsubaki sees how Team 5's members cover one another's gaps much like the food combinations Boruto described. Adapting, she has Wasabi lay a smokescreen so she can wade in with her kenjutsu, then Namida halts the fleeing leader with the Calling on Tears Technique, letting Wasabi seize him. Tsubaki collapses from chakra exhaustion.
