With their part of the battle drawing to a close, Sakura and Shizune set out to lend a hand to Naruto and B. Some distance off, Tobi reels Son Goku toward himself with chains, meaning to draw the pair of them into his absorption technique. B keeps pushing Son to open its jaws and let Naruto out, yet the coaxing fails. Naruto instead calls on the Multiple Shadow Clone Technique from within, forcing the ape to spit him free, which delights B.

Once outside, Naruto is told that the full transformation into a tailed beast has shifted the chakra receiver lodged in Son from its chest up to its neck. Spotting the target, Naruto slips into his Nine-Tails Chakra Mode, then prepares to tear it out, offering Son an apology beforehand should things turn rough.

Naruto hauls himself toward the receiver using chakra arms while Tobi tries to lash him down with chains. Deep within, Kurama looks back on everything Naruto has accomplished and concludes that if the boy genuinely means to save the tailed beasts, he should do what he has always done and simply act. Naruto strains at the chakra receiver from the outside, and a clone he stationed inside Son shifts into Sage Mode to press against it from within with a frog strike, the two efforts converging on the same rod.

This is the three hundred twenty-eighth episode of Naruto Shippuden and falls within the Fourth Shinobi World War: Climax arc, adapting chapters 569 and 570. It first aired in Japan on 29 August 2013 and reached English viewers on 14 January 2016. The opening theme is Not Even Sudden Rain Can Defeat Me and the ending is Carry Your Dreams.
