Showdown Between Close Friends

Naruto and Shikamaru look forward to the clash between Sarada and Chocho. Reluctant to fight her closest friend, Chocho is steadied when Inojin reminds her of a promise they made. Nearby, Kawaki bristles when Shinki approaches and urges him to watch the next match, snapping and grabbing his collar until Shinki peels him off with Iron Sand and repeats the suggestion. In the arena, Chocho swings with enlarged fists while Sarada reads her movements through the Sharingan and lands Lightning Balls, though her apologetic pulled punches only anger her friend into striking back.

Recalling Sasuke's warning that she must be ready to stop Boruto should he become Momoshiki, Sarada commits fully, opening with a Great Fireball that Chocho barrels through in Human Bullet Tank form. The bout climaxes as Sarada charges a Chidori and Chocho enters Butterfly Mode; when the smoke settles Chocho has fallen, and Sarada is named the winner. The two exchange the Seal of Reconciliation, and Inojin comforts a tearful Chocho over the broken promise.

An entry in the Chunin Re-Examination Arc of the Boruto series, the episode threads a second plot around Amado, who is negotiating over scientific ninja tools. He refuses the group's terms out of loyalty to Konoha, so they move to take him by force, only for Boruto and Mitsuki to fend them off and secure him before the trio races back toward the village and the exams.
