The Secret of the Impure World Reincarnation

Continuing his tailed beast lessons with B, Naruto tries to take on the Nine-Tails' shape but manages only a shrunken, chibi form. The Eight-Tails walks him through how such transformations demand cooperation between host and beast, and B warns that Naruto's shortfall may lock him out of the Tailed Beast Ball. Pressing ahead, B shows off his Rasengan inside the Nine-Tails Chakra Mode and is startled to recognize the jutsu as a variant of the Tailed Beast Ball. Learning that the Fourth Hokage devised it, B wonders aloud whether destiny is at play.

At the Mountains' Graveyard, Tobi orders Kabuto to kill Anko Mitarashi, but Kabuto refuses, needing the Orochimaru chakra inside her to tighten his grip on the Impure World Reincarnation. Distrustful, Tobi demands a full demonstration of the technique, including how it can be halted. He then slays Torune and instructs Kabuto to revive and command him using Fu Yamanaka. Kabuto obliges, explains the method, and departs, after which Black Zetsu confirms he has seeded Kabuto with White Zetsu spores before leaving on another errand.

At the Allied Shinobi Forces headquarters, Ao credits intelligence from Muta with pinpointing the enemy units advancing beneath the earth. Inoichi's division relays the orders onward, and reinforcements including Kiba, Akamaru, Hana, and one of the Three Haimaru Brothers are dispatched to bolster the Second Division. Kitsuchi and Kurotsuchi then rip open the ground to expose the foe while the rest of the force waits to strike. The episode adapts chapters 519 through 521 and aired in Japan on May 24, 2012.
