Through the feed streaming from Amado's glasses, the gathered Konoha ninja observe Koji facing Jigen. Koji wonders aloud why he was ordered to retrieve Kawaki when Jigen could simply teleport to the boy at will. Jigen shrugs off the oddity, admitting he timed the whole affair to flush out a traitor. When Koji floats Victor's name, Jigen counters that Victor was only a decoy for the real culprits, insisting Koji answers to Amado and that the two of them downed the airship. Kawaki can scarcely believe this pair engineered his escape. Jigen dodges Koji's strike and runs him through, but the body is a shadow clone. Koji then declares he exists specifically to end Jigen, and Amado explains the plan: the earlier clash with Naruto and Sasuke left Jigen badly depleted, opening a narrow window to bring him down. Dismissing Koji as Amado's disposable instrument, Jigen absorbs the Fire Release hurled at him with his Kama.

Koji slips behind Jigen, drenches him in toad oil, and sets loose toads that ignite him with amplified flame. Naruto notes the fighting style feels oddly familiar. Amado then delivers the central revelation across several beats: Jigen was not born an Otsutsuki but transformed into one. He outlines how the Otsutsuki descend on a world, plant a God Tree, and harvest a chakra fruit that stores all of a planet's chakra and genetic code, the fuel for their evolution, and links this to the Ten-Tails that seed those trees. Pressed by Sasuke, Amado confirms the enemy's real name is Isshiki Otsutsuki, who came alongside Kaguya, was betrayed by her, and clung to survival by shrinking himself and burrowing into the body of a novice monk named Jigen like a parasite, marking him with a Kama only afterward. He describes the Kama as a compressed Otsutsuki backup that gradually erases its host until the entity is reborn, and suggests Momoshiki's return could be halted by killing Boruto.

The 213th Boruto episode falls under the Kawaki Arc and adapts chapters 45 and 46, airing 29 August 2021 in Japan and 13 June 2023 in English. It resolves the apparent contradiction of Jigen still bearing a Kama: Isshiki was too weakened after Kaguya's treachery to forge one, and because Jigen's frame cannot endure Isshiki's chakra, the ancient being cultivated Kawaki as a suitable replacement.
