Still rattled by the fragmented images crowding his mind, Boruto learns from Momoshiki that the pair of them glimpsed pieces of the very same scene, and he starts to suspect the flashes point toward events still to come. During the meeting, Amado confirms the reading Naruto has taken on his intentions. Shikamaru presses Ada about Akebi's temperament, uneasy that the girl might endanger the village, yet Ada reassures him that she behaved like any ordinary child and bore no resemblance to Delta. Amado adds that Akebi carries no ninja training and holds no grand ambitions over the world, a revelation that leaves Shikamaru feeling deflated even as the parent in him understands.

Since none of this threatens Konoha, Naruto agrees to keep clear of the private matter between Kawaki and Amado, though he wants to know why the scientist stayed silent for so long. Amado explains it was never their concern and that no one could have offered any help; he had also meant to tread carefully, aware of how deeply Kawaki despises his Kāma. Kawaki admits he once longed to be rid of the mark, blaming it for everything that had happened to him, but he now understands the Ōtsutsuki who embedded it to be the ones truly at fault, since the mark by itself would never have endangered Naruto's life. He then asks whether the coming procedure could reshape Akebi into an Ōtsutsuki.

Amado admits he has no certain answer and, drained, calls the plan his last resort. Ada, worn out, asks that they stop for the night, and the group agrees to resume the next day. Boruto lies awake later, turning Momoshiki's warning over once more. Over a shared meal the following morning, he asks Ada why she chose Kawaki when he himself qualifies as a vessel. Daemon needles him without mercy, forcing Boruto to swallow his anger so as not to trigger the Reflection. Ada waves him off as too young for her taste, while Kawaki works out that she used her arrangement with Code to draw close to him, deducing she traded Boruto away to Code as part of the deal; she only flushes red, delighted that Kawaki finally spoke her name.

Frustrated that too few women sit at the table for her to open up, Ada uses the Senrigan to call Sarada and Sumire over. Konohamaru steers Mitsuki away from the invitation, remembering how firmly Ada's charm had once seized him, and Sumire again threatens to shut Delta down when she tries to join. Shikadai, cleared by his father, comes despite his earlier resistance, only to fall under the spell and get sent home, which shows Sarada that his previous immunity stemmed simply from never seeing Ada's face clearly. Set apart from the boys, Ada gushes about her feelings for Kawaki while Sarada plays along, secretly judging the fixation as foolish. Through their mental link, the two girls realize that neither of them feels the entrancing in the slightest, and Sumire warns Sarada to conceal it, since their resistance makes them the only ones capable of striking Ada down.

Sumire passes the discovery to Shikamaru, who urges her to hide it from Daemon as well and to withhold it even from Boruto and Kawaki, so the secret cannot slip loose; he observes that the two girls may become essential should Konoha ever brand Ada an enemy. As Sarada sets about befriending her, Ada mourns that her gift has robbed her of even the chance at real companionship. The chapter closes as Boruto catches Momoshiki's stray thoughts, the Ōtsutsuki grasping the true nature of Ada's ability. When Boruto demands more, Momoshiki refuses to share, and Kawaki, reading his expression, calls out to Momoshiki himself and orders him to emerge.
