Jura

With Ryu slain by Sarada, his Thorn Soul Bulb hangs exposed. Mitsuki orders Araya to recover it and carry it to Shinki's tree while he handles the last of the Claw Grime. Jura then bursts out of a Claw Mark, but rather than react to Mitsuki or the loose bulb, he locks his focus onto Boruto and heads straight for him.

Boruto has already sliced Matsuri apart, which impresses Konohamaru, though Boruto credits the earlier softening Konohamaru inflicted. As sand gathers to reveal Matsuri's own Thorn Soul Bulb, a pinpoint hole in the ground signals a sniper shot from Jura's miniature beast ball. Boruto scatters shuriken, tells Konohamaru to grab the bulb and regroup with the others, and when the older shinobi hesitates, a full Tailed Beast Ball forces Boruto to snatch him up and flee the blast. Boruto flings Konohamaru clear to escape, then reappears behind Jura and drives in a Rasengan. Trading beast balls and teleports, Boruto tries a sword strike, which Jura simply blocks with his bare hand while admitting the fight fills him with joy.

Watching through her Senrigan, Ada tells Koji Kashin that Boruto cannot win and should retreat, yet Koji explains that Boruto cannot track his metal markers while dueling so fierce an opponent, and is only buying time for the others to flee. Jura vows to kill Boruto for knowing too much and pries after his hidden informant. Boruto stays silent, judging that his Rasengan landed but unable to read Jura, and concludes he must resort to Rasengan: Uzuhiko. Jura, meanwhile, muses aloud about what love even is.

Wood Release erupts beneath and behind Boruto, and though he cuts through it, the branches keep chasing him and rob him of the footing Uzuhiko demands. A heavy strike slams him down, knocks away his sword, and pins him in a tangle of wood. Jura retrieves the fallen blade, and Boruto warns that harming the weapon left to him by Sasuke will earn a fate worse than death. Jura offers to spare the sword in exchange for the informant's location, though he means to kill Boruto regardless. Conceding that love may indeed be a flaw, Boruto argues it is exactly what keeps beings like Jura no more than trees, then unleashes Uzuhiko to break free, teleporting to the sword still in Jura's grip and landing the blow. Jura is thrown back yet lands upright, wobbling from a wrecked sense of balance, but to Boruto's shock he cancels the damage and heals himself, comparing the feat to his Tailed Beast Balls.

Jura emerges and ignores every objective except reaching Boruto. Boruto finishes Matsuri, offloads the escape to Konohamaru, and engages Jura alone to cover the retreat despite having no realistic chance of victory.

Boruto lands Rasengan: Uzuhiko after freeing himself from Wood Release bindings, only for Jura to nullify the attack and restore himself, demonstrating a resilience tied to his beast-ball abilities.

The chapter appears in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex within the Matsuri and Ryu arc and was collected in volume 6. It highlights the recurring theme of love as both flaw and strength that defines Boruto's stand against the God Tree beings.
