Summary

Kawaki kneels over his severed prosthetic arm as Sarada asks what went wrong, and Boruto and Mitsuki turn up to learn that Naruto has vanished. Shikamaru sweeps in with reinforcements, pins Kawaki beneath his shadow, and relays what the Sensor Unit picked up before demanding answers. At his signal a barrier seals the property, meant to trap Kawaki inside while shutting any enemy out, and his squad splits into pairs to comb the house. Released from the shadow, Kawaki describes how Jigen materialised through a rip in the air the moment his Kāma flared, a phenomenon Shikamaru identifies as space-time ninjutsu. When Sarada wonders why the intruder grabbed Naruto instead of Kawaki, the boy explains the Hokage was removed for interfering. Shikamaru and Mitsuki reason that a simple killing would have taken only a heartbeat, so either the fight continues or, at best, Naruto won but cannot return. Boruto raises Sasuke and his own space-time abilities, though nothing has been heard from him since his last assignment.

Key Events

Shikamaru voices his long-standing distrust, suspecting Kawaki of being a Kara operative all along, and places him under house arrest until his innocence can be shown. Boruto objects, but Kawaki accepts the ruling. Far away, Amado tends to a drained Jigen and estimates two days for his chakra to recover, while Jigen exults over how Kawaki's Kāma is maturing, possibly through resonance with Boruto's, and dreams of both boys becoming Ōtsutsuki so a colossal God Tree can rise. Meanwhile Koji, judging Jigen depleted, sees a rare chance to strike and heads back to base. Amid the argument, Sarada quietly admits she has envied Boruto and once imagined how much better her life might have been with Naruto as her father, giving her insight into Kawaki's confusion over the Hokage's kindness.

A subordinate returns the mended vase, and moments later Kawaki's prosthesis glows with Naruto's chakra, convincing him the Hokage lives. Sensing that signal, he asks for Boruto's help and activates his Kāma; Boruto's mark resonates in kind, and together they open a portal identical to Jigen's. Realising he shares Jigen's nature, Kawaki resolves to mount a rescue despite Boruto's denial that they are alike. Shikamaru tries to hold the children with his shadow, but Kawaki absorbs the technique and warns the gateway is closing. Mitsuki hauls Sarada and Boruto through, and Kawaki follows, telling Shikamaru he intends to bring back his proof. On the far side they find Boro standing guard over the kettle holding Naruto, a fellow Kara Inner whom Kawaki calls worse in some respects than Jigen.

The chapter belongs to the Kawaki arc and pushes the resonance between the two Kāma marks to the forefront, tying it to Kara's ambition of cultivating Ōtsutsuki vessels. It also deepens Sarada's relationship to Naruto and sets up the confrontation with Boro in the alternate dimension.
