Regeneration

Boro notices Kawaki bearing down on him and lets loose a cloud that resembles mist yet is really gunpowder. He touches it off with the sparks that fly when Kawaki's altered arm swats away a thrown shuriken. The blast catches Kawaki, but he presses on regardless, checking the kettle that holds Naruto inside, a shift in behavior that clearly frustrates Boro. When Boruto warns him to take more care, Kawaki shrugs it off and swears his wounds will close fast. Boro muses aloud about putting Kawaki through retraining; Boruto insists the boy is a citizen of Konoha; Boro replies that they will haul him back regardless, wanting the Kāma he carries. The two younger shinobi then launch their assault together. A Rasengan shatters Boro's hand, but he rebuilds it in an instant and keeps pressing them. Sarada keeps her Fire and Lightning Release sheathed to avoid igniting the gunpowder and throws shuriken instead, only for Boro to liquefy them with Lava Release. Mitsuki stretches his arms to pin the enemy long enough for Kawaki's Kāma to blow away Boro's lower half, which knits itself back together anyway.

Kawaki tells his teammates to stall while he lays out the trap: Boro means to bleed their chakra dry through nonstop healing, though that healing has a weakness. As Boruto sends in shadow clones and Mitsuki lashes out with snakes, Boro triggers another gunpowder blast, this time sparking it on his own. Kawaki reveals that Amado rebuilt every Kara member's body with scientific ninja tools whose designs remain imperfect; the stronger the tool, the larger the core it needs. Boro's healing must run off a core at least the size of a heart, and destroying it ends the regeneration for good. When Sarada notes they have already wrecked every part of him, Kawaki tells her to search with her Sharingan and rejoins the fight. Just before Kawaki bursts Boro's head, Sarada catches him forming seals; a last Rasengan from Boruto, draining the final drops of his chakra, confirms that something is shifting beneath the skin.

She fixes the core's position at Boro's right flank, but warning her teammates aloud would give it away, so Sarada decides to strike alone. She mentally sifts through her techniques, discarding those too weak to pierce his body and fearing he will shift the core the instant she takes aim. The counter has to outpace his hand seals, and only one technique of hers can manage that, still unpracticed and never tested in a real fight. She readies a Chidori, and Boruto knows it instantly as the technique Sasuke wields. Boro reaches for his seals too late, and Sarada rams the Chidori into his flank.

Boro fights by weaponizing gunpowder and Lava Release while healing from every wound. Kawaki explains that a heart-sized core drives the recovery and that smashing it is the lone way to stop him. Sarada pinpoints that core in Boro's right flank and, keeping silent so he cannot react, buries an unfinished Chidori into it.

Drawn from the Boruto manga's Kawaki Arc and collected in volume 11, chapter 42 makes Sarada's freshly learned Chidori the deciding blow against Boro and links his powers back to Amado's body modifications.
