Summary
Medics carry Lee off, and after examining him they tell Guy that his injuries run too deep to mend, leaving him unlikely to ever serve as a ninja again. Crushed that a technique he himself taught has ended Lee's dreams, Guy grieves before stepping away so the closing match between Dosu Kinuta and Chōji Akimichi can proceed. Waiting to enter, Dosu at last works out that Orochimaru never wanted Team Dosu to kill Sasuke, but to unknowingly gauge his abilities, which explains why Orochimaru marked Sasuke with a cursed seal rather than finishing him. Dosu privately resolves to defy that wish and win so he can face Sasuke himself.
