Overview

Blades are the heart of this Paramecia ability, which reforms parts of the owner's body into scissors sharp enough to cut solids as if slicing paper. Anyone bearing the power earns the label Scissors Human. The name echoes choki choki, the snipping sound made by Japanese scissors, and both VIZ and FUNimation call it the Snip-Snip Fruit, while an official channel once used Shear-Shear Fruit. Inazuma, a close ally of Emporio Ivankov, is the eater.

Mechanics

Reshaping flesh into cutting tools is the defining trait, whether the whole hands swell into oversized shears or merely two fingers become a small snipper. Whatever the wielder forms this way can slice through almost any hard material, stone included, with little effort. A cut slab then behaves as pliably as paper yet keeps its true density, letting Inazuma throw stone strips at foes, stand them upright as a shield, or run one across a gap so it works as a bridge. Terrain becomes a weapon and an escape route alike, since he can also cut away a staircase to block anyone chasing him. His precision runs fine enough to pick locks and, with a single set of shears, to cradle a wine glass without shattering it, a feat mirroring the logic of Zoro's Shishi Sonson. No special vulnerability beyond the standard Devil Fruit drawbacks has surfaced.

Notable Users

Inazuma stands as the only wielder, putting the ability to varied use during the Impel Down escape, from carving enormous stone slabs into flexible sheets to picking locks and cutting down enemies in a fight. Named attacks include O Kanabashi, meaning Great Tongs, in which he charges with giant scissor-hands shredding everything at his sides, first used to slice apart the stairway between Levels 3 and 2 and delay Magellan while Ivankov held him off; and Keep Out, where those same shears cut loose slabs of the nearby ground and fling them at a target, debuting against Magellan. Curiously, the anime never actually showed his hands changing into scissors, cutting away from the frame with a sound of sliding metal instead.
