Kyubu Kyubu no Mi

Making its first showing in non-canon material, this Paramecia fruit belongs to Gairam and marks him as a Cube Human. The name riffs on the Japanese rendering of the English word cube, and FUNimation localized it as the Cube-Cube Fruit. What it grants is the power to carve whatever Gairam contacts into geometric blocks that then obey him.

Anything within reach, be it solid matter, the surrounding air, or living creatures such as humans, can be squeezed down into cubes. Those blocks answer to the wielder, who lifts them off the ground, assembles them into towers and labyrinths, or rides a single one as a hovering platform. A person caught by the effect keeps freedom of movement and can wrench loose given enough resolve. Otherwise the fruit carries the usual Devil Fruit weaknesses, leaving the user helpless in seawater.

Gairam turns to the power mainly for combat, often channeling it through his hammer so that whatever he strikes crumbles into blocks, a tactic that lets him break past guarded defenses by cubing the defense itself. His named moves include Cubreak, a palm laid on a structure to collapse it, first tried on a Marine battleship; Cubooster, formed cubes flung to crush a foe, debuted against Luffy; and Air Cube, a dense block of compressed air. That last one feeds Air Cubooster, a bomb-like burst launched at the Buggy Pirates until Galdino's Candle Wall stopped it. With Totem Cube, he stacks a cubed opponent atop a pillar and knocks away the base to torment them, as he did to Buggy. His Air Cubooster works on a principle akin to Bartholomew Kuma's Ursus Shock, only far less devastating.
