Gairam

A man of middle age, Gairam carries a round, teardrop-shaped torso balanced on slim arms and legs, a build shared by several similar characters. Two cube-styled ponytails, bound at the base by an orange band, rise from his head, paired with a thick mustache and heavy brows. Goggles fitted with blue rims and green lenses rest on his face. He dresses in a white-striped blue shirt rolled up at the shoulders, brown gloves, boots to match, and a red scarf at his neck, while a pair of suspenders supports what looks like an oversized frying pan studded with golden buttons and pierced with leg holes. A hammer formed from two metal cubes is always in his grasp.

Confidence shades into arrogance for Gairam, who trusts his own talents completely, a trait on display when he faced Luffy. He brushed off Buggy as a nuisance rather than a real threat, a misjudgment that let Hancock topple him in a single move. His fondness for cubes, surely tied to his Devil Fruit, extends to enjoying stacking them. Loyalty to Byrnndi World runs deep; despite a thirty-year gap he proved a faithful crewman after the captain's escape. In earlier days he and his shipmates drank together as close friends, voicing a shared longing for freedom. His laugh has its own ring to it, written as Gairarara.

Handling the crew's shipbuilding, Gairam stands out as a gifted engineer, his proudest creation being the Groseade, a vessel powerful enough to wipe out a whole island. He is physically very strong, swinging his enormous cube hammer constantly and using it in battle without tiring. That hammer bears two faces, both shaped as cubes, though whether the design was deliberate or made with his fruit is unclear. The Kyubu Kyubu no Mi lets him convert objects into cubes, either by molding a target into a block or by splitting it into many smaller ones. He directs these cubes by thought, arranging them into shapes such as a stone maze that snares his foes, and can launch them as projectiles. He is even able to compress air into a cube to form a pressurized bomb, and to turn people themselves into cubes, leaving them helpless.
