Summary

After helping, then being tricked by, a damaged ship, the crew discovers the survivors serve the Accino Family. The hunters spring an elaborate trap, herding the Sunny into a shifting maze of icebergs, and a flying fish snatches the crew's Jolly Roger. Determined to win it back, the Straw Hats give chase. They also learn of the once-proud Phoenix Pirates, beaten down in the New World and reduced to the Accinos' underlings, whose listless captain Puzzle has given up the sea, to the dismay of his fiery young crewmate Jiro.

The conflict splinters into running battles across the ice and through the Accinos' melting fortress, Lovely Land. The crew faces the hunters' skating, magnetism and plant-based powers in successive rounds, freeing themselves from freezing prisons and pressing toward the flag-collection room. Zoro repeatedly gets lost while leading the way, Robin sees through the lonely girl Lil's manipulations, and Puzzle, reminded of a fallen comrade's sacrifice, finally rediscovers his fighting spirit. The clash builds to Luffy's duel with the family patriarch.

Aftermath

Don Accino, who can superheat his body to staggering temperatures, melts his own island around them, but Luffy enters Gear 2 and ultimately overcomes him, hurling him into the ruins of his collapsing realm. The crew recovers their Jolly Roger, secretly aided by Lil, and slips it back aboard before Luffy ever notices it was gone. As the shattered island sinks, the revived Phoenix Pirates step up to face the surviving Accinos, parting from the Straw Hats with renewed resolve.
