Arthur

A curly brown beard frames Arthur's face, and his hair stays tucked beneath a light purple turban. He layers a blue vest over a brown garment stamped with a kanji character, which reads differently between the manga and his concept art, while the lower hem carries round, ornamental shapes. His hands appear to taper into fairly sharp claws.

What can be drawn of Arthur comes through in his deeds. Risking his own life to guard Ace marks him as someone who holds loyalty and friendship dear, and his willingness to raise arms against Marine Headquarters shows he is far from short on courage.

Arthur built a fearsome name for himself in the New World and aligned with Whitebeard as one of his subordinate captains. When Portgas D. Ace was slated for execution at Marineford, Arthur led his crew into the Whitebeard Pirates' rescue, and the allied fleet of forty-three captains stunned the waiting Marines by appearing out of nowhere just off the shore. He charged through the breach Little Oars Jr. opened, flanked by Hangan and Reforte, cheered Whitebeard on after Squard's betrayal, and later stood watch over Ace and Luffy as they traded their final words, fending off any continued attacks. Though never shown trading blows directly, he was seen carrying a sword and is presumed a swordsman worthy of his reputation. Once the Red Hair Pirates showed up and Sengoku declared the conflict over, Arthur withdrew among the survivors who were allowed to depart.
