Attach, often called Attachan, is a photojournalist working for Morgans at the World Economy News Paper. Once the head of the Marines' Photography Department, he supplied the portraits behind countless wanted posters before his blunders cost him the job. He began as an SBS gag by Eiichiro Oda and grew into a genuine canon character.
Going by his shadowed reveal, Attach is a stout, aging man sporting a grayish-brown mustache. His wardrobe features a green-and-white checkered shirt with white sleeves, paired with black trousers and a white top hat. Following the timeskip he looks much the same, the main addition being an armband on his right arm reading WE, presumably for World Economic.
His character is lightly sketched, though some traits stand out. He seemed startled when told the lens cap had been left on for Sanji's photo, suggesting pride in his craft, yet the truth is that he genuinely did leave it on, having repeated the error fifty-seven times before his dismissal. That record paints him as careless and inattentive at work. His nickname Flaming Attachan comes from his habit of shouting Fire just before tripping the shutter.
By Oda's account, Attach is a gifted infiltrator able to slip almost anywhere and photograph nearly anyone, though his combat ability is unknown. He rose to chief of the Marines' Photography Department, the unit responsible for capturing the images used on wanted posters, before repeated mistakes got him fired. During the strike on Enies Lobby he successfully shot Sogeking, Chopper, Robin, and Franky, but every attempt at Sanji failed, ending with a useless picture taken while the cap was still on. Trailing the Straw Hats to Water 7, he tricked Nami into posing by posing as a local reporter, yet had to turn in a blank for Sanji, which forced the Marines to use a crude composite that ironically shielded the cook from his Vinsmoke relatives.
After the Summit War, his fifty-seventh lens-cap mishap finally got him let go, and Morgans recruited him into the World Economy News Paper. At the Red Port ahead of the Levely he worked under Morgans, covering the arriving royals and photographing Princess Shirahoshi. Later, during the Wano period, his identity was quietly stolen by the CP6 agent Jabari, a deception exposed only when Jabari tore off the disguise while trying to stop Morgans from running a story.
Attach, a photojournalist for Morgans' World Economy News Paper and former chief of the Marines' Photography Department, took wanted poster photos and captured images of Sogeking, Chopper, Robin, and Franky during the Enies Lobby raid.
Attach was fired after repeatedly leaving the lens cap on while trying to photograph Sanji, a mistake he made fifty-seven times before his dismissal.
Attach now works as a reporter for Morgans at the World Economy News Paper.
Every attempt Attach made to photograph Sanji failed, most notably because he left the lens cap on, forcing the Marines to use a crude composite image on Sanji's wanted poster instead.
The CP6 agent Jabari secretly impersonated Attach during the Wano period, a deception exposed when Jabari tore off the disguise while trying to stop Morgans from running a story.
