Basil

Lanky and dark red-haired, Basil keeps his locks in a short bowl cut with sunglasses perched up top. Stationed in a frozen region, he bundles against the cold in a fur-lined poncho of pale pink over a light purple shirt and trousers, the pants cinched with a soft sash.

Like all of the Phoenix Pirates, Basil treasures his crew, holding firm to the belief that Puzzle is destined for the Pirate King's throne and grieving deeply over Vigaro's death. He carries a strong sense of honor, taking up arms against the Accino Family to win back his crew's stolen flag. For all his fighting spirit, he has a notably low tolerance for pain and flinched while Chopper tended his injuries.

Basil and his crewmates crossed Paradise and pushed into the New World, but the foes waiting there outmatched them, costing them Vigaro and driving them back to the first half of the Grand Line. They then ran afoul of the Accino Family, who beat them, seized their flag, and forced them into servitude luring other crews into traps. Strong enough to reach the New World yet unable to topple the Accino Family alone, Basil fights with a sword he handles with fair skill, and he and the crew could at least scatter packs of Domo Penguins.

Posing as raided fishermen, the Phoenix Pirates crossed paths with the Straw Hats, accepting Chopper's care and Luffy's hospitality before drugging the food and drink they offered in return to steal the Thousand Sunny. Sanji, Franky, and Robin only feigned sleep and confronted them, and Basil fought alongside Sutton and Guyle until Stansen called a retreat. After Brindo's cruelty pushed Luffy into battle, the crews tangled with the Accino bounty hunters; Basil and the others rescued Luffy from the sea, fended off Domo Penguins at Lovely Land, and once every flag was reclaimed set sail again for the New World beside the Straw Hats, charging joyfully into Campacino's revenge attack so their allies could press on.
