Charlotte Counter is one of Big Mom's quintuplet sons and an officer of her crew. A hulking brawler who wields Armament Haki, he joined the army raised to avenge Cracker and helped bring down a worn-out Luffy inside the Whole Cake Chateau.
One of identical quintuplets, Counter is built much like his brother Opera: a colossal man with an enormously thick torso set on legs that look comically tiny by comparison. His dark brown hair rises in a mohawk above a heavy beard, and he wears a dark blue vest edged in thick pink, dark trousers, and the dotted wristlets and belt shared by his brothers. A young girl with a bronze ponytail and a flowered red dress is often perched on his shoulder.
Counter's loyalty to family and crew runs deep enough that he enlisted in the enraged army purely to avenge his younger brother Cracker's defeat. He extends no mercy to his foes. After helping topple Luffy, he stomped on the captain's back to knock him out when Luffy clung stubbornly to the ground.
Born just after Opera and ahead of Cadenza, Cabaletta, and Gala, Counter rounded out Big Mom's set of quintuplets as her sixth son. When Cracker fell to Luffy, Counter signed on to the army assembled in revenge. With Luffy already drained and battered from his earlier fights, Counter and his identical brother Cadenza ambushed him with Cream Punch, a paired strike that hammers a target from both sides with Armament Haki-charged fists. The blow felled Luffy, and when he refused to move, Counter stomped him into unconsciousness and hauled him off as a prisoner.
Luffy soon broke out and, tearing through the chateau in search of Sanji, throttled Counter while demanding answers. In the anime, a separate clash plays out on the outskirts of Sweet City: a starving, exhausted Luffy is jumped by Counter, beaten down repeatedly, yet rallies enough to trade blows and finally knock his opponent out cold.
