Chuchun

Chuchun is a giant sparrow, dwarfing a typical human by several times. His beak carries a dark purplish-brown tone, while his back feathers run light brown speckled with darker dots and markings toward the wingtips, and his underside is beige. Matching his rider Itomimizu, he sports a striped knit cap pulled down over half his head with cut-outs for the eyes. The manga draws those openings as triangles like the masks the Foxy Pirates wear, whereas the anime rounds them off and colors the cap's dark stripes blue.

Chuchun voices a sort of chirping "chyu" sound and otherwise displays no striking quirks. Even so, he grew excited as the Davy Back Fight reached its final round and pulled a worried face when Luffy knocked Foxy out, signs that he grasps what is happening around him and may even hold a measure of devotion to his captain.

Beyond his natural gift of flight, Chuchun wields no special powers, yet he is sturdy enough to bear a passenger and clever enough to navigate without being steered, since Itomimizu was never seen directing him. He carried the commentator above the Davy Back Fight for a bird's-eye view, then sailed off with the crew once the games ended, and at some point during the timeskip he parted from Foxy for reasons left untold. In the non-canon Adventure of Nebulandia, he again ferried Itomimizu, was slowed by Foxy's reflected Noro Noro beam, and later flew Brook and Chopper to safety through a string of Marine ambushes, eventually helping rescue the captured Foxy Pirates and Straw Hats.
