Donquino

Large in frame but oddly thin in the limbs, Donquino keeps his dark hair short and lets long sideburns frame his face. He favors a red modern captain's cap, a red-and-white striped sleeveless top, blue slacks, and dark shoes, and a pipe usually dangles from his mouth. An anchor is inked on each of his arms.

By nature Donquino is a merry sort, forever grinning or laughing, though he wept openly when Roger and Oden eventually left the crew. He loves loot like any good pirate and was thrilled by the riches the crew seized at God Valley. Loyal to his shipmates and respectful of his captain, he shared in the joy of long voyages and grieved their losses, yet he was not above ignoring or sidestepping an order when it suited him. Like nearly the whole crew, he carried a torch for Shakuyaku and trampled Roger underfoot in the rush to reach her at God Valley.

Belonging to the storied Roger Pirates, Donquino may well have been extraordinarily strong. He showed off remarkable muscle by hauling a loaded treasure cart single-handedly, dragging along Millet Pine and his mace as well as Erio, and he ran rather than merely pulled it. As helmsman he bore responsibility for navigating the Oro Jackson through countless punishing seas, including those of the New World.
