Donquixote Shivercalero

Shivercalero is a heavyset, balding man whose remaining hair, light green and curly, spills from the back of his scalp. His face carries a thin mustache, a sizable nose, and a set of bucked teeth, while folds of fat around his neck and chin blur the line between his head and torso, giving his upper body the look of an upright triangle. A white robe drapes over him, left open to expose a hairy chest.

Like many of his fellow World Nobles, Shivercalero indulges himself freely, lounging with enslaved women and sipping from an oversized glass of wine. He is, however, markedly more aware of the wider world than his son was a decade earlier, showing a working grasp of political matters.

His birthright as a World Noble entitled him to do as he wished under the full protection of the World Government, including the power to call down a Marine Admiral against anyone who dared offend him. Ten years before the present, his son Mjosgard questioned why the former fish-man slaves had been permitted to go home to Fish-Man Island. Shivercalero explained that those slaves had earned a pardon because Jinbe had joined the Seven Warlords of the Sea. The anime expands the moment, having him voice anger over the pardon, whereas the manga keeps him to a plain explanation.
