Hanafuda

Height set Hanafuda apart immediately: he was an enormous, heavily muscled figure crowned by thick pale hair that spilled out from under a dark, pointed hat shadowing most of his face. His long coat reached the knee, studded with buttons and exaggerated shoulder pads raised like jutting elbows, and it hung open to bare his chest. He completed the outfit with metal gauntlets, a strap crossing his torso, patterned light trousers cinched by a broad metal belt over a fur-lined one, and high dark boots.

A collector at heart, Hanafuda prized Ancient Zoan Devil Fruits and made amassing them a lifelong pursuit. He was also drawn to raw power in others. After trading blows with Kaidou he chose partnership over rivalry, convinced the Emperor was destined to become the next Pirate King and bound to him by their common appetite for rare fruits. That faith ran deep enough that he handed his own beloved children over to Kaidou's keeping.

His standing as a Warlord marked him as formidable; he could trade blows with Kaidou himself before the two reached an accord, though he eventually fell to Portgas D. Ace. Whether he ate a Devil Fruit of his own is never confirmed, since his renowned hoard of Zoan powers was described as a hobby rather than a personal arsenal. In combat he favored a large kusarigama whose chain ended not in the usual iron weight but in a spiked ball styled like a morning star.
