Hanzo

Standing tall and heavily built, Hanzo conceals his features behind a yellow mask that reveals only his eyes and bears a skull motif across the brow. A pale green scarf wraps his neck, and his yellow kimono is decorated with a shuriken pattern. Everything below the head is sheathed in dark green netting that covers his bulky body. He reaches a towering height of 544 centimeters.

Matching the rest of his squad, Hanzo stays devoted to the shogun and treats his assignments with seriousness, keeping a calm front whenever he is on duty. That calm shattered the moment he ran into the famed kunoichi Shinobu, whose renown left him gripped by panic.

For all his bulk, Hanzo proves startlingly nimble, passing most of his time crawling and dangling from ceilings, with a personal specialty labeled 'Floating.' As an Oniwabanshu operative he is a master of stealth who relies on a grappling rope quick enough to pin a target in an instant, plus a sword strapped across his back. The anime places him among the Kouzuki Family Oniwabanshu twenty years earlier, standing in the Flower Capital during Kouzuki Oden's execution and helping cut off Shinobu when she tried to expose the truth.

At Orochi's banquet he and his comrades surrounded a body double of O-Robi, and Hanzo bound it with rope before the decoy disappeared; Fukurokuju then sent the squad after the genuine Robin, putting Hanzo up on the banquet hall ceiling. Above the rafters he discovered Nami and Shinobu peering down. After he wounded Shinobu's pride by doubting she was still beautiful, she hurled a projectile into his groin and broke through the floor, dropping him into the hall below. He afterward entered the fray against the Straw Hats at Rasetsu Town, traveled with Orochi to Onigashima, and stayed silent when Fukurokuju pledged the Oniwabanshu to Kaidou under threat of death. During the raid he battled the alliance, found himself hunted once the Ice Oni virus spread, and stood amazed when an infected Hyougoro reverted to his former yakuza-boss self.
