Happa Yamao

Happa is a hefty giant of a man who dwarfs Usopp completely. Spiky dark hair tops his head, and his beard juts out in the same jagged style. A scar marks the skin below his right eye. For clothing he leaves a blue collared shirt with a brown leaf print hanging open, revealing a white shirt underneath.

He comes across as warm-hearted. Noticing that Usopp was hungry, he handed over some rice balls, and even though the sniper could not cover the full cost of his purchase, Happa was content to accept whatever little money was offered.

Happa once lived the life of a bandit and spent time in Pucci, but for reasons left unexplained he abandoned that path and resettled in Water 7 as a carpenter. When Usopp came shopping for materials to repair the Going Merry, Happa supplied the wood and slipped him rice balls after spotting his hunger. Short on funds, Usopp offered to swap some of his tools as payment, which left Happa wondering whether he was dealing with a country trader, and he ended up letting the boy keep the surplus lumber anyway.
