Heat sails as one of the Kid Pirates, a swordsman from Kutsukku Island in the South Blue who once led a town gang before joining Eustass Kid's crew. He can exhale fire and stays fiercely loyal to his captain through the events at Sabaody, Wano, and beyond.
Long, shaggy hair of pale blue frames Heat's face, and his mouth splits toward the cheeks in the manner of a Glasgow smile. Sunken black eyes sit beneath prominent bone ridges along his brow, and stitched scars run across his chin, the line of his mouth, and his upper cheeks. Barbed-wire tattoos wind over his neck, shoulders, and arms. He dresses in a dark blue corset threaded with red lacing, red trousers with armor padding on the right leg, and tall brown boots, finished with a looped golden belt that mirrors Wire's.
Heat regards his captain, Eustass Kid, with deep respect, shown when he cried out "Master Kid!" upon seeing a Pacifista shoot his captain through the leg. He views weeping or begging as contemptible and mocked Sanji for begging to be rescued amid the Raid on Onigashima. That stance later exposed his own hypocrisy, however, when he himself pleaded with Shanks to spare his captain and crew after their defeat.
Heat breathes fire by some means that has never been explained, and like his crewmates he carries a strong will, withstanding Rayleigh's Supreme King Haki; he also fought with a pair of swords against a Pacifista. He was born on Kutsukku Island in the South Blue, a place outside the World Government, where he, Kid, Killer, and Wire each ruled one of the four towns as gang bosses. After a rival gang murdered Kid's love Victoria, Kid merged the four groups, destroyed the rivals, and founded the Kid Pirates, naming their ship the Victoria Punk in her memory. At Sabaody, Heat watched Saint Charlos buy Camie and saw Luffy punch the noble after Hatchan was shot, then weathered Rayleigh's Haki alongside the crew. The Kid Pirates escaped the Pacifista, observed the Marineford war by broadcast, and pressed into the New World. During the Dressrosa period they allied with the Hawkins and On Air Pirates, and Kaidou later crash-landed on their island. In Wano, the scattered crew regrouped for the Fire Festival and joined the raid on Onigashima, where Heat dismissed Sanji's cry for help as pathetic. In the Final Saga at Egghead, after Shanks crushed both Kid and Killer, a terrified Heat begged for mercy and offered up the crew's Poneglyph rubbings, but Dorry and Brogy's attack cleaved the Victoria Punk apart and sank the crew with it.

When I first decided to commit to watching One Piece seriously, I knew I was embarking on one of anime's longest and most beloved series. With over 100...

The transformation everyone knows, the follow-up question nobody would touch. Why we made a smooth R&B track about the golden glow Dragon Ball never talks about....
