Appearance

A blond ponytail and pale skin mark Jero out, along with green eyes set above a sizable nose and a rounded chin. His build carries a wide midsection, and a dark curling tattoo sits over his left brow. For clothing he favors an orange striped top, dark trousers, brown gloves, a matching cloak, and black footwear. The manga renders his hair a darker shade than the anime does.

Personality

Stubbornness defines him. When Vergo struck at the G-5 ranks, Jero rejected outright the notion that the man who had looked after the branch would harm them, certain the attacker had to be a fraud.

History

Jero rides with the G-5 squad that trails Smoker to Punk Hazard after a distress signal about a samurai. The expedition spirals into disaster as Trafalgar Law swaps the minds of Smoker and Tashigi, Caesar Clown's schemes poison the island, and the lethal Shinokuni gas spreads. Forced into an uneasy alliance with the Straw Hats, the Marines scramble to shield the kidnapped children and flee the crumbling laboratory.

When Vergo assaults the unit, Jero shouts that the vice admiral must be an impostor and charges with his comrades, only to be swatted aside before Sanji steps in. He survives the rail-car escape and later watches Doflamingo overwhelm Smoker and Kuzan's sudden arrival, agreeing afterward to stay silent about the former admiral.
