Kabu

Sharing the dwarf traits of a small frame, a big fluffy tail, and a pointed nose, Kabu looks older and rounder than most of his kin and sports plenty of facial hair. His outfit is a dark coat over a double-breasted buttoned shirt with a scarf. Once he joins Leo's pirate crew, he adds a pale pirate hat bearing the group's flag. He wields a beetle Zoan and carries two lances slung across his back.

Kabu looks out for his people, warning the others about Nico Robin's so-called magic. He is sharp enough to see why Mansherry behaves selfishly only around Leo, and he ribs Leo for failing to notice the princess' feelings for him. For all that, he shares the trademark gullibility of the dwarves. It is taken for granted that he holds the standard Tontatta gifts of strength, speed, and a green thumb for growing any plant.

On Green Bit, Kabu and other dwarves ambushed and stripped a band of Marines, and as they fled, Robin caught Kabu with her power. The dwarves drugged Robin and Usopp and hauled them to Tontatta Kingdom, where Kabu warned everyone of Robin's abilities before the tribe naively trusted her. Convinced Usopp was a hero descended from Mont Blanc Noland, they urged him to feast before leading them against the Donquixote Family. Kabu joined the assault on the factory beneath the Corrida Colosseum to free 500 captured kin, marched with Thunder Soldier toward the palace to assassinate Doflamingo, and was easily swatted aside by Lao G. Once Lao G was pinned, Kabu pressed on with Thunder Soldier and Rampo, only to be caught and knocked out by Gladius. Rescued by Kin'emon and Wicca, he later reunited with Leo's group and, after Doflamingo trapped the island in the Birdcage, fled the turned former toys. Kabu and Leo summoned the beetle-powered Tontatta Airlines to glide across Dressrosa, hunting for Luffy and for the captured Mansherry. He reached Mansherry in time to stop Giolla from reviving the fallen officers, then carried the princess through the air so she could heal all of Dressrosa. After Doflamingo's fall, the dwarves saluted Kyros and hindered the pursuing Marines, and Leo's group pledged their loyalty aboard Orlumbus' Yonta Maria. Kabu joined Leo's new pirate band, served as a Levely escort with Bian and Leo, and in Dressrosa later heard Vegapunk's worldwide broadcast about the Egghead Incident. His name comes from kabutomushi, the Japanese rhinoceros beetle.
