Leo

A blue matador outfit trimmed with gold buttons and gold edging forms Leo's main look. Beneath it he wears a black dress shirt finished off with a red tie, and his feet are clad in shoes colored blue and grey. His proportions stand out: the body stays short while the head looks oversized, topped by a wide chin, and the eyes, nose, and mouth all read as tiny against that broad face. The hair he keeps is on the longer side and rather messy.

Leo holds his teacher in high regard and readily boasts about how skilled Carmen is in the kitchen. Honesty ranks among his traits, shown when he corrected her exaggerated claim of a decade-long hunt for Sanji down to the truthful figure of ten days. He also guards Carmen closely, refusing to let Sanji draw near her.

Because he trained under Carmen, Leo is presumed to carry solid cooking talent of his own. For distractions he waves a red flag, and he lugs around an enormous spatula, though whether that doubles as a weapon is never confirmed. Against Sanji he relied on a frying pan, landing a blow to the Straw Hat's face with it.

During the Loguetown Arc, Leo and his fellow disciple Jose presented themselves and their master once Carmen blocked Sanji's path. When Sanji moved to kiss her hand, Leo shot him a sour glance, then watched Carmen drive a frying pan into the cook's face. Ordered to explain her grudge, Leo unfurled his giant spatula displaying portraits of chefs Carmen had beaten, and he trimmed her boast about a ten-year pursuit down to ten days. After the cooking contest concluded and Carmen admitted defeat, Sanji tried to embrace her over the praise she gave his dish, prompting Leo to leap in and clobber him across the face with the pan. Sanji kicked him aside in retaliation, and Jose helped Leo back to his feet as Carmen vowed to meet Sanji again. In the 4Kids dub, Carmen reframed the pan strike as jealousy left over from a past romance between Leo and Sanji.
