Kotetsu (Non-Canon)

Tan-skinned and enormous, Kotetsu carried a shock of shaggy black hair at the rear of his head with a single curl jutting from the front, plus a goatee parted into two points. His features were broad and exaggerated, with thick pink lips, a heavy lower jaw, and a jutting chin. His limbs echoed Franky's build, slim at the upper arm but swelling out into thick forearms, wide wrists, and webbed hands, set above a bulging belly and stubby legs.

Day to day he went shirtless in loose pink and yellow trousers cinched with a brown sash, topped by a white turban marked with a red dot, gold jewelry at his neck and arms, and black footwear. For cooking he swapped to a towering chef's hat and a short-sleeved white and brown shirt, with two giant spatulas slung across his back.

Kotetsu stood firmly behind the Red Arrows Pirates, ready to trade blows with a Straw Hat for their sake. He also carried a streak of honor, conceding his loss to Sanji without complaint once he had been clearly outdone. His devotion to Omatsuri ran deep; speaking from beyond death, he thanked the captain for keeping his old crew in mind yet gently chided him for not seeking new companions.

Long ago Kotetsu signed on with the Red Arrows Pirates, who sailed the Grand Line during the era of Gol D. Roger. A savage storm eventually claimed Kotetsu and the whole crew, leaving only Omatsuri alive. The grieving captain washed up on Omatsuri Island and discovered the Lily Carnation, which he used to bring the cook and the others back, after which they lured pirate crews to the island to be broken apart and devoured by the monstrous plant.

In the film, Kotetsu was usually posted beside Omatsuri, even shielding his captain from spray with an umbrella during the goldfish contest. He later faced Sanji in a kitchen showdown, the pair using sponges and oversized spatulas to swipe ingredients from one another. As he put the final touches on his Omatsuri Island Yakisoba, Sanji seized the entire dish and worked it into a grander creation, prompting Kotetsu to bow out. When the Lily Carnation perished, Kotetsu turned into a plant, and from the afterlife he gave his captain his parting words.
