Machvise

Towering and heavily built, Machvise is a corpulent giant of a man crowned with long, wavy blond locks tucked beneath an oversized red hat. A full beard and mustache frame his face, and his thickly muscled, club-like upper arms taper into oddly slim, hairy forearms above short, stubby legs. His outfit centers on a swirl-patterned red shirt with a tail-like flap at the rear, dark sunglasses, and the crew's jolly roger stamped across both arms and the front of his red peaked cap. A clover-shaped iron plate rides on his back. Flashbacks show him slimmer and more athletic in his thirties, wearing a singlet, before age and weight rounded out his familiar silhouette.

A verbal tic colors his speech, since he swaps the ordinary "ing" ending of words for a drawn-out "iin." He can seem oddly considerate, voicing mock concern over Baby 5 after she was shot, yet he is bullheaded enough to threaten any Marine who dared approach once Doflamingo supposedly stepped down from the Seven Warlords. In combat he turns brutal, gleefully amplifying a blow against the wounded Hajrudin who could barely stand. For all his bulk he has a peculiar fondness for balancing in pirouettes, and like so many in the world he carries his own signature laugh: "Nihihihihihi."

Ranking as an officer, Machvise commanded the crew's lesser members and routinely entered the Corrida Colosseum's tournaments, where the talent runs deep. The four Diamante Army officers were reputed to guarantee victory whenever they competed together. His durability borders on absurd, since he can slam through stone without flinching and brushed off one of Dellinger's fierce kicks with only minor discomfort, an attack that left fighters like Bellamy badly hurt.

His power flows from the Ton Ton no Mi, a Paramecia fruit that lets him magnify his own mass by metric tons. By soaring above a target and then suddenly dropping his swelled weight, he attempts to flatten enemies into the earth, splitting the ground and even cracking a giant's bones. He pairs this with a round, cross-shaped shield, normally chained to his back, to drive his body slams home. Born in the North Blue and pursued for his fruit, he was eventually run down and recruited by Doflamingo. During the Dressrosa conflict he fought alongside Senor Pink and Dellinger, struck down Boo of the Happo Navy, and escalated his crushing attacks against Hajrudin, only for the giant's Gungnir to launch him into the Birdcage threads and leave him broken and beaten. After Doflamingo fell, the Marines hauled him away.
