Overview

Helmed by the Chinjao Family of Kano Country, this New World fleet swore itself to Luffy and enrolled under Sai as one vessel within the Straw Hat Grand Fleet. Command has descended through thirteen generations of the family, and by Orlumbus's count the force numbers close to a thousand hands. Its flagship, the Happosai, bears a white tiger figurehead and the word Happo across its main sail, trailed by seven lesser ships known as the Ipposai. Over the years the fleet weathered a run-in with Vice Admiral Garp and piled up a considerable hoard of riches.

Role

Their hallmark discipline is the Hasshoken, a martial style that pushes vibrations into a physical strike to crack shields and guards while landing heavy blows. Those tremors can travel through a fist, elbow, kick, or even a headbutt, mesh well with Armament Haki, and echo one of the effects seen from the Gura Gura no Mi. In his prime the former leader Chinjao once bore a bounty of 542,000,000, while the sitting commander Sai showed his own mettle by beating Lao G of the Donquixote Pirates. The crew gained a further asset once Baby 5, formerly an officer among the Donquixote ranks, switched sides and married Sai.

Notable Members

For a full century the fleet hid treasure below the Jewel Ice Sheet. Chinjao ran things as the twelfth commander until Garp collapsed his renowned drill-shaped head, stripping away his power and his path to that buried wealth and driving him into retirement. Command then fell to his grandsons, with Sai taking the top post and Boo becoming lieutenant. During the Dressrosa events a punch from Luffy inadvertently reshaped Chinjao's drill head, and in thanks the old man placed the fleet under Luffy's protection. Once Sai used a kick to reshape that revived drill head and went on to beat Lao G, Chinjao proclaimed his grandson the rightful captain. Once Doflamingo fell, the fleet swore its loyalty to the Straw Hats, and Sai later married Baby 5 while calling off an arranged engagement to Uholisia.
