Mao

Mao stands at an average height and has large eyes set under a broad forehead, with thin brows, a small nose, and brown hair drawn back and fixed with a decorative piece. Her outfit is a pale yellow kimono cinched with a pink obi.

Kindhearted and diligent, Mao throws herself into her work and holds her friends dear. She is forever eager to lend a hand, something she demonstrated through her tireless efforts to push the Pinwheel Eatery's shrine team to victory. She also flushes easily when flustered, blushing both upon meeting Nico Robin and when Igaram revealed that the race's grand prize was a pair of golden panties.

Although she is no fighter, Mao once landed a punch on Brook hard enough to send him reeling several steps, and she is a capable server besides. Working under Onami, she follows her boss's directions and takes her advice to heart, and the two grew close while cooking for and supporting their shrine team.

Newly hired at the Pinwheel Eatery, Mao served Usopp a glass of cold water on his return and gave Luffy a generous second helping of rice, which earned a gentle correction from Onami. She was startled when Brook first arrived and opened his skull, yet intrigued by the flute kept inside. While delivering food to Franky's workshop she was watched by Perona, and after Lola's shrine was wrecked she went missing, having never come back from her delivery. Luffy and the others found her cornered by zombies and frozen with fear, and Luffy quickly knocked the undead aside to save her.

As the portable shrine race unfolded, Mao cheered her team on and, when the Thriller Company shoved them off the track, she and Onami took to the air on a borrowed Flying Fish to follow and guide them. They fetched cola for Franky's secret weapon at a crucial moment, helping the Pinwheel Eatery team cross the line first. During the victory celebration, Igaram presented the team with the golden panties said to grant wishes for beautiful women, and when Brook asked Mao to put them on for him, she punched him in the face, knocking his memories loose once again.
