Marianne

Marianne carries a childlike look despite being a teenager, her large eyes set above round patches of blush on each cheek. Short in height, she keeps her dark red hair in twin braids. Topping her off is a wide-brimmed hat in pink trimmed by a green band, worn over a dark blue tee printed with the word GOLDEN in pink. Beneath that she layers a sky blue button-down patterned with clouds, a maroon overalls skirt whose bib is turned downward, stockings striped in blue, and large red shoes trimmed by white cuffs and soles.

Once her cover-story adventure concludes, she swaps the brimmed hat for an apple-shaped beret and adds a scarf to the ensemble.

Relaxation is Marianne's defining trait, taken to an almost absurd degree. A battle raging around her did not stop her from laying out a picnic, and on one occasion she felt too idle to fetch a nearby cup of tea, communicating that wish to her partner with nothing but her eyes until Mr. 3 grumbled and brought it over. A piece of senbei is rarely far from her hand during idle moments. Yet beneath the languid surface she takes assignments seriously, going so far as to block Luffy from wrecking her partner's Candle Set in order to protect his crew.

After Vivi's cover was blown and she fled Baroque Works, Crocodile dispatched Miss Goldenweek and Mr. 3 to ambush her and the Straw Hats on Little Garden. Inside a wax structure she dozed while Mr. 3 briefed Mr. 5 and Miss Valentine on hunting the giants for a large bounty. When the Straw Hats intervened, she opted for a picnic over a fight, then painted a black mark beneath Luffy that made him spurn Nami's cries for aid. She ran through her other Colors Trap effects until a green mark on his shirt nearly lured him into a calm tea break, foiled only when Usopp burned the shirt away. Her hypnosis stems from her skill as a painter: chosen colors reshape a target's mood and conduct, bending them to whatever the trap dictates.

Following Crocodile's downfall in Arabasta, Marianne, Gem, and Mikita escaped Little Garden atop a pterodactyl to reach their jailed comrades. A storm scattered their plans onto Kyuka Island, where Hina captured Mikita before the others sprang her loose and made off with Hina's ship. They infiltrated the Marine prison by feigning capture, freed their friends, and afterward converted the Cactus Saloon into the new Spiders Cafe, the place where this group now works together. Long after, during the Egghead era, she stood with Drophy and Mikita listening to citizens debate Vegapunk's warning about rising seas.
