Marie

Marie is a young woman whose black hair falls to her shoulders, framing large dark eyes that the anime renders in brown. Her nurse uniform is light pink and stops at her upper thighs, marked over the left of her chest by a red medical cross. To complete the look she wears a cap in the same pink shade, lipstick to match, white pumps, and a gold engagement ring set on her right middle finger.

Devotion to nursing clearly defined Marie. Rather than halt to kneel before a Celestial Dragon, she pressed on to get a dying man to the hospital, and Charlos kicking that patient left her visibly rattled. When his guards moved to seize her she grew frantic and begged to be let go. Her love for her fiancé Judy ran deep: even as she was being dragged away, she wept over his shooting and cried out for someone to save him.

While a crowd bowed to the passing Celestial Dragon Saint Charlos, Marie and fellow medical workers tried to slip through it carrying a stretcher bearing a man bleeding toward death, racing for a nearby hospital. Charlos spotted them, took offense at their failure to kneel, and knocked the stretcher and its patient from their grasp. Singling Marie out, he resolved to claim her as his thirteenth wife. As she protested, her fiancé Judy dashed forward to defend her and was promptly shot down. Marie pleaded for rescue while the guards apprehended her and hauled her to a harbor for transport to Mary Geoise. What became of her afterward, and whether she ever got free, has never been revealed.
